Sociolinguist, Manchester Institute of EducationAlex Baratta is a Reader in applied linguistics at the University of Manchester, within the Manchester Institute of Education. He runs a school-wide writing centre, Write Away, as well as delivering online study skills sessions. He has published five books on academic writing and study skills, as well as researching within language and identity; linguistic prejudice; and linguistic equality.
